Stefano Corazza wins the “Giovanni Solari Thesis Award” for his master’s thesis

Stefano Corazza, a student in our PhD program in Structural, Seismic and Geotechnical Engineering, has won the “Giovanni Solari Thesis Award” for his master’s thesis titled “Mechanical modeling of stranded cables and assessment of their self-damping properties for aeolian vibrations applications” The thesis was supervised by Dr. Francesco Foti, with Prof. Luca Martinelli serving as co-supervisor.

The award was granted by the University of Genoa – Department of Civil, Chemical and Environmental Engineering (DICCA) of the Polytechnic School in collaboration with the Giovanni Solari Wind Engineering and Structural Dynamics (GS-WinDyn) research group for the best Master’s thesis on Wind Engineering topics discussed in Italian Universities during the Academic Year 2021-2022. This prestigious award aims to honor the memory of Prof. Giovanni Solari, his passion for teaching and research, and his exemplary support for students and young researchers.
